|

“Say goodbye to the agony of UTIs with a superfruit secret weapon – cranberries! These little tart berries pack a powerful punch of antioxidants, organic and fatty acids, fiber, and proteins that can help reduce and prevent those dreaded urinary tract infections. Let’s face it, UTIs are uncomfortable, embarrassing, and downright painful. But did you know that they affect up to 50% of women worldwide? And the most common culprit behind them is the pesky E. coli bacteria. While antibiotics have been the go-to solution for years, the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria has left many searching for alternative solutions. That’s where the power of personalization and cranberry supplements come in. With tailored formulations designed specifically for men and women, cranberry-based products offer a natural and effective way to combat UTIs. So, say goodbye to antibiotics and hello to the sweet relief of cranberries. It’s time to take control of your urinary health and live your life with confidence!”

Cranberries have been found to contain anthocyanidins and proanthocyanidins (PAC), which are tannins that serve as a natural defense against microbes. One hypothesis is that PAC can prevent bacteria responsible for urinary tract infections (UTIs) from adhering to the bladder and urinary tract linings, thus reducing the likelihood of an infection.

While cranberry juice and other food forms of cranberry can be beneficial, cranberry supplements are generally considered superior for UTI prevention. A single cranberry capsule can provide the same benefits as eight ounces of cranberry juice.

Approximately 50% of women experience a UTI, and about one-third of these women will suffer from recurrent infections. Clinical trials involving women with a history of recurrent UTIs have shown that daily doses of a 500mg cranberry supplement, called Pacran by Naturex, led to a 58% reduction in UTI recurrence and delayed the onset of the first UTI compared to a placebo.

Men can also benefit from cranberries, as over 50% of 50-year-olds and 80% of 70-year-olds develop an enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). With BPH comes lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) that can cause an overactive or underactive bladder. Cranberry supplements have been found to improve LUTS in men. In a double-blind, randomized trial involving 121 men with moderate bladder symptoms, those who took a daily dose of 500mg of the Flowens supplement by Naturex experienced a 38% improvement in their symptoms compared to the placebo group.

While antibiotics are effective in treating an active UTI, they should not be used as a preventive measure. Waiting to treat an infection can also negatively impact daily activities and quality of life. The natural benefits of cranberries and cranberry-based products are safe and effective for preventing UTIs and alleviating symptoms associated with an infection.
